What is digital punch card ?

Definition

The digital punch card is a system for monitoring and rewarding customer loyalty. A card is punched (or "punched") each time the customer makes a purchase. The card is scanned by a cashier or scanned by a device near the checkout. When the card is punched, the customer receives a point. The card is also scanned when the customer enters the store. That scan counts as a point, and it's the customer's first point of the day. For every 10 points, the customer receives a $1 discount on their purchase.
